Starting 'Em Young...
The girls each got a silver purse for Christmas and were so excited to take them out shopping yesterday.
Natalie packed 26 cents, her "lipstick" (a chapstick with a picture of a cupcake on the front), and some cheese & peanut butter crackers.
Michaela Byrd put some "monies" in hers and tried to cram a large stuffed "Frosty the Snowman" inside.
I figure I ought to start them out young with an appreciation for a fine handbag, so that when they are older and have married well, they can buy me real Balenciaga bags so I don't have to settle for some from Canal Street.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
(10 points if you can name that quote!)

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)

Your daughters are just too, too cute! The picture put a big smile on my face this morning! Such sweeties!
ReplyDeleteMy middle daughter has loved her purses since she was two--she's twelve now. Imagine my surprise when we went out of town last month and made a quick stop at a mall, walking through Lord and Taylor to get to our destination, and said child made a beeline to the purses, grabbed a Juice Couture laptop bag, and paid for it herself. (Apparently she'd been saving her money and didn't tell anyone.) Now it's official...my twelve-year-old is the only one in the family to own designer. That's so wrong, isn't it? She uses the bag to carry her fashion magazines, sketch pad, colored pencils, and books, and is so proud of it. But, geez, twelve and designer...I hope she continues to save her own money for these things and doesn't expect me to keep her in her new lifestyle. :-)
Love you post! You have two beautiful and cute daughters! Would that be a line from "Forrest Gump"? Over from SITS to say hello!
ReplyDeleteCute purses! The girls look adorable with them.
ReplyDeleteI remember raiding our penny jar and trying to buy an $11.00 doll, all with pennies. My mom stopped that transaction pretty quickly.
Seinfeld quote?
Seinfeld quote! I forget what else happened in that episode, but Jerry was mistaken for being gay, and there was a lot of protest, quickly followed with, "Not that there's anything wrong with that..." I think every life situation has a corresponding Seinfeld quote. Also, it's a good thing you didn't have two tomboys :) My daughter got a firetruck and a hockey set for Christmas...we'll see if she ends up girly or not!
ReplyDeleteSeinfeld, of course!
ReplyDeleteLook at those adorable chubby baby hands!
adorable, a girl can never have too many purses :)
ReplyDeleteNothing like a cool accessory to make a girl feel like she's got things under control. So, so cute!!
ReplyDeleteYup, start them off young! lol. My daughter is 14 and doesn't go anywhere without her bag and she has been carrying one forever. Have a Happy New Year!
