Summer hasn't really arrived in The 'Burg until the "ce-ment pond" (as The Beverly Hillbillies would say) is open.
The girls wasted no time turning the calm, pristine waters of the baby pool
into a swirling whirlpool of chaotic joy.
The shrieks of happiness and splashing distracted from Michaela Byrd's bathing suit malfunction.
Even Barbie relaxed and enjoyed herself.
I'd rather be cooling myself off in the big pool or reading a magazine in a lounge chair, but it is pretty amusing to watch those two frolic.
{What do you look forward to in the summer months?}

Oh what cuties, I love their suits!
ReplyDeleteWe try to swim every day - everyone loves it at our home!
ReplyDeleteWe are into our 2nd full week of summer and have not even had time to go the pool yet. I'm usually a sungoddess (or a beached whale, depending on your perspective) and live at the pool. Hopefully we can get there soon!
ReplyDeletelove the barbie!
Haha! We might need you to get a little video of the little ones splish splashing away. :-) I love how light it stays later in the evenings during the summer. As much as I love the fall & snow, the one downfall to that time of year is how dark it gets so early. :-/
ReplyDeleteCement Pond! I love it. I said that to someone one day and they looked at me like I'd lost my mind. Seriously? They'd never seen the Beverly Hillbillies? Have they been under a rock? With their fingers in their ears and their eyes covered with duct tape? Come ON!
ReplyDeleteIt was in the mid 60's here today (yay!!!) so no pool for us unless we went to an indoor schwimbad and they kind of creep me out.
Cute girls. I have two boys and we still haven't busted out the swimming pool yet - it's been too cool still. We're hoping for 80's all next week so we can take a dip. Looks fun.
ReplyDeleteI love those cute bathing suits. Your pool membership is worth every penny considering how hot it has been lately.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the light staying in the sky until well after 8PM!! And the heat and the pools being open and the smell of sunscreen and day camp. So many things make me smile.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics of the kiddos by the way

Their little ruffled suits are sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteAs for me, after a looooong day with all the kids at home, I look forward to Hubby coming home so I can run screaming from the house before they call the crazy police to come and get me and take me to the padded room! I also look forward to school starting again. It's been a crazy week at my house. Does it show?
Love the pics... they are such cuties. I love little girly bathing suits. :) Adorable.
ReplyDeleteMade me wanna DIVE in! It's cold and rainy here! What the heck is up with that?
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hamburgers off the grill in summertime...MMMMMM.

Love the blog! Especially the name... i can just hear George's father screaming it... right now!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I love going to the pool. I haven't been yet this year. It's been so cold! I think the high tomorrow is going to be 68. I love the hot weather and hanging out by the pool eating snow cones. So fun!

Ahh, S.wood pool! I have such fond memories of jumping off the high dive there and getting the "potluck" soda from the vending machine. Wonder if they still have that?!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, the cement pond...love that saying! We've been hitting the pool everyday as well...such a fun time, and the memories our kids are making will last a lifetime!

Ha! The 'ce-ment pond' was one of my favorite lines in that movie. Yours looks so refreshing (it's something like 100 degree heat index here today). What fun photos - love the one of Barbie! ;)
