Because with a fireplace comes a mantel. And The Nester is hosting a Mantel Link-Up today along with Julia's Fall Decorating party. And I don't have a mantel.
But I decided not to let that get the best of me. "It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful," right?!
So here is the top of my TV armoire, all decked out for Fall:
I painted the pumpkins last year, and the vintage lunch box was a find at a summer estate sale.
My next non-mantel is the hutch in the kitchen:
Don't you love the dog bed in the corner? I like to keep it real.
Couldn't resist showing you a peek at a few more Fallish things around here. I couldn't put everything out because of the Blessings Unlimited parties I hosted, but I managed to sneak a few things in....
Glass pumpkin, 40% off at AC Moore. Faux acorns in the apothecary were from the $1 bin at Target!
Snagged two of these little brown "Charlie Brown" Fall trees at JoAnn fabric and the faux gourds are also from the $1 Target bin!
It feels like Fall has finally arrived in my area of Virginia. Whether or not it's here to stay, I can't say...but I can say that the Fall decor is up for the next couple of months. Just long enough for me to get antsy about Christmas!
{What are your favorite Fall decorations?}
Very cute! Love your painted pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a mantel and sometimes I feel left out too! I love what you did with your armoire! I think the pumpkins with the polka dots are my favorite! Do you remember where you got the faux pumpkins?
ReplyDeleteThey look like mantels to me! :) Love how u've scattered decor about on ur surfaces. Who says u need the perfect mantle to display seasonal decor!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! Who needs a mantel?
ReplyDeleteSigh...I don't have a mantel either! :-( But I make the best of it with a bookshelf and little touches around the house. I love what you did with yours! Love the polka dot pumpkins! How fun! Fall seems to be in Central Missouri as well...yay! Loving these temperatures 50s-60s-low 70s!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the touch of Autumn this morning!
Very fall festive!!

I like decorating ALL over not just in one 'supposed to' spot. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI must make haste to Target & get me some of the acorns & gourds!!! THye're so cute, & I love the lunch box, it so cute & charming :-) I would have never though to use anything like that. Loving your decor! Looks great! :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the top of your TV cabinet!!
ReplyDeleteYour armoire looks so cute, I love the T pumpkin. I just bought fake pumpkins @ Michael's to paint w. polka dots (I "borrowed" from Imperfectly Beautiful). They're expensive if you don't get them w. a coupon!! Making it my weekend project.
ReplyDeleteI love all those cute pumpkins on top of your TV amoire. Looks good!
ReplyDeleteLove those acorns! Your "mantles" look great-cute pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteI love your "non mantel" decorating. And your polka dot pumpkin is to die for!!! Seriously. :)
ReplyDeleteLookin' good, Amanda! I just love the top of your armoire--I knew you'd do great things with that little lunchbox! And aren't the gourds hanging out in the wooden pedestal bowl that you bought and painted? I just love that I recognize things around your house--it's such fun when you feel "at home" at a blogging friend's house!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't let your lack of mantel stop you from participating in the fall parties. Your fall decor looks wonderful.
Love your first one, a lot!!! I really love your wine cork piece! Very nice...I need someone to save corks for me!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda! Thanks for the sweet comment:) I LOVE your painted pumpkins! I've seen a lot of those this year, and I'm dying to hit the pumpkin patch up the road so I can make some for myself.
ReplyDeleteAs far as my tv cabinet goes, it actually came from Walmart. PLEASE don't waste you money on it...the quality of it is terrible, which could be expected form Walmart I guess. But, we bought it several years ago when we first got that tv because we needed a cheap solution to hold it. The only reason we still have it is because my hubby is wanting to get a new tv (that one has issues with the component cables and turns greens randomly) and I'm planning to get a new cabinet at the same time.
I do like the style of it, but I would honestly be embarrassed to show a close up of it! It's in rough shape at this point, so I just like to "admire" it from afar:)
Sorry I couldn't be more help to you! If I find a good one in the meantime, I'll try to send you a link!!
Well, mantel or no, it looks good! I love the painted pumpkins and that lunchbox!
ReplyDeleteI love how you make it work! Fall is not here yet, we're still in shorts!
ReplyDeleteI just love to decorate with pumpkins. All of your decor looks really cute, Amanda. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your display of pumpkins. It's a breath of fresh air and a little different than the typical fall scape. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove your thrifty fall decor - you more than made up for the no mantel! Mantels are overrated! I have mini pumpkins from Trader Joe's and some orange marigolds on the dining room table and a faux fall wreath on the front door. It's hard to think about fall when it's 100 degrees here in Los Angeles!
ReplyDeletei didn't decorate a mantel either...love all your cute painted pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteWho needs a mantel lovey dovey when an armoire will do! Lovely touches of fall, you're so creative!

I love all of your pumpkins! They are the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to paint a polka dot pumpkin too. I just love dots! Love them all! I need some gourds like that. Our Target didn't have any. I love the arrangement on the TV armoire. That vintage lunchbox is PRECIOUS! I love it! I hardly ever decorate for fall. I usually go straight to Christmas decor.
ReplyDeleteI love the top of the armoire and the other little touches. That lunchbox is to die for~what a perfect addition. It makes me want to go back to school!
ReplyDeleteYour non-mantel looks amazing! I also love the bowl full of gourds.
ReplyDeleteI saw those glass pumpkins at a local fabric store and my husband wouldn't let me buy them...now I really want them. We don't have mantle either. Our fireplace has a small ridge that I can't sit anything on. And I get jealous looking at all the other people's mantles, basements, and walk-in pantries too.
ReplyDeleteVery cute decorations! Makes me realize I should get my fall decorations out.
ReplyDeleteAll of your decorations are beautiful Amanda! Who needs a stinkin' mantel right? :) Those polka dots are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteLovin' the polka dot pumpkins. Just adorable!
ReplyDeleteAnd, no worries about the dog bed. I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. =)
Hi Amanda! Thanks so much for visiting me today and leaving a comment on my bathroom decorating project! Love your reference to Judge Judy..to funny! Your fall decor is wonderful! Have a great week! Angie xo

ReplyDeleteWell good on you! I am in love with your glass pumpkin! So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDidn't you find that cool tartan lunchbox this summer? Love it!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks very fallish. You've made it look great w/o a mantel. To tell you the truth, decorating the mantel is one of the hardest things for me. You don't have to worry about it!
It all looks great, Amanda! I'm especially digging those polkadot pumpkins. So fun. Thanks for playing along with our parties--mantel or no mantel! :-)
ReplyDeletePolka Dot pumpkins are sooooo cute! Love the top of your TV cabinet!! Very fun!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a fireplace either and feel sad for one every Chritmas. You did a beautiful job making your house pretty for fall.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations being a judge for CSI, how fun!!

I purchased two weeks ago that glass candy pumpkin jar at the Christmas Tree Shops for $1.99. It is by Anchor Hocking.
ReplyDeleteI love your non-mantle fall decor. Especially all those adorable pumpkins grouped together. p.s. I don't have a mantle either! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that you didn't being mantle-less stop you. Love the decorations. You look like you are ready for fall!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

I am also in VA! I love what you did with the pumpkins. I have been meaning to do something cute too, it just comes back down to the 4 kids thing and NO budget thing again! But thanks for the inspiration. I just found your blog and think that it is too cute! I am also a lover of SHOES! We have many things in common! I will definitely be checking back.
ReplyDeleteLove your painted pumpkins girl!
