Thrifty Treasures: Shoe Parade

(If you're here for the Weekend Bloggy Reading link-up, it's open for new links until 10 pm tonight!)

Y'all know I love me some Retail Therapy, and shoe shopping is a great form of therapy. I love to dress up my feet. I've found some great bargains recently that I just had to share.

These babies were marked $1.99 at Sears on Labor Day. At the register, they rang up for $1.20.
I never go into Sears anymore. It's on the other end of the mall from where I normally park. But my kids ran in there with Mimi following while I was donating blood in the atrium with the Red Cross, and I had to go hunt them all down when I was done. It was the best hunting ever because I found those adorable purple fringe flops.

These little slouch boots came home with me after a Buy-One, Get One Half Off foray into Payless with Michaela Byrd and a 20% off coupon.
She got brown Mary Janes, I got boots. I think it was a good deal.

I don't spend a whole lot on tennis shoes for my kids because they don't wear them all that often. So when I spotted these for around $10 at Wal-Mart, I snatched them up for Michaela Byrd, who outgrew her tennis shoes over the summer.

My house puts off an Arctic chill in the winter months, so when I spotted these adorable sets of girls' slippers, I picked them up in Natalie and Michaela Byrd's sizes. They want to wear them now, even though it's 82 degrees outside.
I can't afford designer shoes anymore, so I don't mind spending less on something trendy that will probably last about as long as the style is in.

I'm wishing for cooler weather so I can get into those boots!

{Have you found any Thrifty Treasures lately?}

  1. $1.20??!! That's fabulous! I love shopping clearance racks at the end of the season for next year; you get the best deals! You really scored on those flip-flops.

  2. I don't go to Sears much either, but I did find some boots there a few weeks ago. $1.20 for shoes is a super deal! I'm always buying summer stuff for cheap during the fall...I have to wait awhile to wear it but the price makes it worth the wait!

  3. I love the clearance rack at rackroom shoes, esp during their BOGO sells :) I spent a total of 30 dollars for 4 pairs of designer shoes, two pairs of heels for me (I have a sickness... someone needs to cure me) and two pairs of sneakers for the mini... I LOVEEEE clearance...

AND Old Navy in August... I bought $240 worth of back to school clothes for $120 I was so happy! I used 3 coupons 2 were 15 off 50 dollars when you use an old navy credit card and another was just 10 off any 50 dollar purchase! combine that with the deals and I was STOKED.

^ obviously I am still excited. I'll shut up now. LOL.

I love the boots and the slippers. So cute... ;)

  6. You found some great deals. Next spring when you rediscover those cute fringed flip-flops in your closet, you are going to be so happy! I hardly ever go into Sears unless it is to look at tools or appliances. Maybe I should venture that way when I make a rare mall trip.

  8. Wow, love the boots. I used to have slouchy boots years ago when they were stylish the first time around. I haven't been in Payless lately - I'll have to check them out.

  9. You did awesome. It's been my own personal experience that the shoes I buy retail never seem to get worn while my thrifty finds are often my best! I love the slouchy boots!

  10. I love finding good deals... Especially on shoes =) But, I do tend to splurge a bit on my heels... If I'm going to wear them all day, I want them to be comfortable lol!

  11. I buy almost all my kids' shoes at Payless or Target. For me though, I need a little something more real because I have bad feet. But I try to not spend more than $40 per pair. I love those boots. I want some!

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
