Simple Valentine's "Hugs and Kisses" Bucket

I decided to get a head start on Valentine's Day gifts when I was thinking of a new, inexpensive Silhouette vinyl project to show you. I put together a simple Valentine's Day "Hugs and Kisses" bucket...so easy that even if you don't have a Silhouette machine, you could do something similar on your own.

My supplies:

  • Two metal Vday buckets from Target's Dollar Spot
  • Two rolls of Vday ribbon from Target's Dollar Spot (I only used one)
  • Lovely, delicious chocolate (Hershey's Hugs and Kisses)

I took a peak at my bucket and decided I wanted my vinyl to be 3 inches high and 4 inches wide. I opened up my Silhouette software and played around until I designed something I liked enough to try printing:

I followed the directions included with my premium vinyl and before I knew it, I was rubbing my "artwork" onto the bucket.

And my final product?

I made two, one for each of Natalie's preschool teachers. I think they'll make a pretty sweet gift {no pun intended}.

{Have you started thinking about Valentine's Day gifts yet? Any simple or inexpensive ideas?}

  1. That is so. darn. cute. Wow. It's amazing how the addition of the vinyl elevates a little bucket into a great gift!

    Is there any vinyl left over when you make your cuts? I don't know how the Silhouette works, but I was thinking that if there's room in the margins, you could throw in a few extra hearts (or anything else, I guess) that could be put in a stash for little embellishments. For instance, I love to wrap little gifts by using simple lunch bags (I especially like the white ones), folding over the top to make a flap, punching two holes, and running a ribbon through the holes to hold the bag shut. If you had extra vinyl in a little stash, you could add cute embellishments to a little bag like this.

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
