Sunday Shopping Showcase: After Christmas Sales!

You all know I am a huge fan of the shopping. Love the shopping.

Melissa over at 320 Sycamore had a great post with some After Holiday Shopping Tips, and it was a great reminder that as hard as it is to bypass all the new Spring stuff in stores right now, this is the best time to buy holiday stuff for next Christmas! Wal-Mart's Christmas section was 50% off on Friday, and Target had everything marked down to 75% off yesterday.

I took Melissa's advice to heart and picked up a few things that I knew would come in handy next Christmas. Now I'll have a nice surprise in the attic in November!

I always buy one "Show-Offs" ornament storage box after clearance. Picked this one up for $6.00. (sorry for the bad pictures..Blogger isn't liking me today)

Silver and red tinsel garland, 75% off at Target and 50% off at WM. Cute "Merry Christmas" garland from Target for $1.50.

Love these cute little "lawn picks" from WM. They ended up being about $1 each.

Box of cute gold shatterproof ornaments from WM, $2.50 for 8.

Not bad, considering our local stores were hit hard the day after Christmas. There's not much left now, even if Target does go to 90% off!

{Do you shop after Christmas to stock up for next year?}

Can't believe it's back to the grind tomorrow. As much as I am looking forward to sending my oldest back to preschool 3 days a week, it was nice to have some lazy days at home!

*Have you entered my New Year's Giveaway yet? Open til Monday at 10 pm (ET).

  1. I love this post!! You got some great finds! I went shopping the day after Christmas a bit but nothing was cheap enough :) I'll have to stop by Target now that they've lowered to 75% off. I got my entire house worth of Christmas decorations last year for 75% off and it was a HUGE moneysaver this year! I even got my tree from Target for $12 (display tree). What a great post!

  2. I just bought some (surprisingly) cute ornaments at wal-marche for $0.25 - they were silver glitter trees.

I bought several ornaments at Restoration Hardware and Target last year after Christmas that I was happy to unwrap them this Christmas.

  3. You found some good stuff. The only bargain I got were a few gift bags at Big Lotts. I didn't go out shopping this year after Christmas to look for any bargains. Truthfully, I need to stop buying Christmas stuff. What I have is simply ridiculous!! If I find a roll or two of wrapping paper, I will buy that, but only if I really, really like it.

  5. Going to the after Christmas sales is one of my FAVORITE shopping days of the year (next to Black Friday, of course)! I picked up some good sales also..about 3 days after Christmas since we couldnt get out the day after due to so much snow around here! Love your finds!!!

  6. I bought an underbed ornament box after Christmas this year and everything just went everywhere. But, it was soft sided. I think I need to pick one up like yours.

I went easy on after-Christmas sales this year. I have enough stuff. But, I did find a great silver tree (7.5 feet tall). Can't wait to get that out next year.

  7. I was too lazy to get up early on the morning of the 26th so I got nothing. :( Well not exactly nothing, I did get a couple packages of gift tags at Walgreens and two heart ornaments at Target that I'm going to use for V-day. I needed wrapping paper but you need to be out at 6:00 a.m. on the 26th to score that. Oh well. :)

And then I hit the Cracker Barrel...they also had 60% off their Christmas decor. Got some rockin' things there and a great lunch!! Ha!

  9. Nice work! I bought a bunch of stuff on sale after Christmas last year, so this year I didn't stock up on anything. It was hard to make myself stay away from all the sales, though! It's just such a rush! :)

  10. Yea! You did great! It is crazy how different each Target is. We were driving through DC during the break and we stopped at a Target to pick up a few things (it was 2 stories in a mall with an escalator??)and they were 75% off and had hardly anything. We came back to our store and there were tons of trees, garland, baking stuff, everything. I got 2 porch trees and everything else I'm holding off until 90%. Happy New Year!!

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
