::Weekend Bloggy Reading:: Link Up!

Welcome to Weekend Bloggy Reading. I hope you'll link up your best post of the week today, and maybe leave me some comment love!

All kinds of posts are welcome--recipes, crafts, funny stories, home decor, etc.; but please do not link to Etsy shops, businesses, items for sale, etc. (I have a Sponsors section, if you'd like to Advertise with me.)

*The I {Heart} My Crafty Cutter linky party is still open for new links until tonight at 10! Join the party to earn an entry in the Starbucks/Coffee Cozie Giveaway

Here are a few of my faves from this week:
sources listed below

~A great post from Maillardville Manor about Meal Planning on a Budget. Some good tips!

~Do you have Thrift-Store-Shopping-itis? I did. The Nester has a Cure.

~The Drudge Report linked to an article on The Death of Blogs on Twitter the other day. It's a really good read, but I'm not sure I entirely agree with the premise. I still love to blog, love to read blogs...and I've found that social media just enhances the experience! I think the "quitters" the article references might not have bargained for the hard work that comes with writing blog posts. Just my opinion! Check it out for yourself!

~Jennifer focused on DIY this week and blogged about her Painted Floor Tiles.

~If you want to know how commenting on blogs can turn into a good thing for YOU, read Heather's Crafter Minds post on 8 Reasons to Comment on My Blog. This is a must read for bloggers, seasoned and rookie!

~And me?
I spent a lot of this week visiting some fabulous links at the I {Heart} My Crafty Cutter linky party. Hope over for inspiration to see how crafty people use their Silhouettes, Cricuts, and other die cutters. I also weighed the benefits of a Target Playdate, and found a great Dollar Store Solution.

Time to link up your best post of the week (please take the time to include a link-back or my party button and visit some of the other participants!)
Here's the button code if you'd prefer to use that rather than a link-back:
Weekend Bloggy Reading

Party is open until 10 pm (ET) on Sunday night.

Remember that blog parties work best when bloggers participate, so if you have a chance to visit a few of the other links, you might find a new friend or two!

T has this weekend off,and I would love for us not to be the lame family that lays around all weekend. Any suggestions? We have a little pizza party planned with Mimi tonight, but not much else in the works....

{What are you up to this weekend?}

Back tomorrow with some highlights from Weekend Bloggy Reading AND the Crafty Cutter party!

  1. I agree with you about the Drudge article! I think some of the bloggers he talked to were maybe too young to realize that sometimes you have to stick with something a good long while before it pays off . . . I enjoy stopping in at your blog and will be back to read the linked posts. Blessings!

  2. I read the Drudge article and I don't agree that blogging is dead. I think it is much like any other "craft" of the day (I remember when everyone I knew as an avid scrapbooker but then many of those have faded away...though the ones who truly love it, still do it!).

    Thanks for another Friday full of fun reads! Happy Weekend, my friend!

  3. I'm still filtering through some of the crafty cutter links, there's soooooo many great ideas, I'm so jealous I don't have a cutter yet! I'm loving the painted floor tiles & I'm on my way to read Crafter mind's post too, sounds good. I linked up to the party today! :-) I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

  5. Thanks for hosting again. I loved Nester's posts this week too. I admit I am a sufferer of that dreaded syndrome...

  6. The Drudge article was interesting. It kind of goes along with a theory I've been developing over the last couple of weeks that there are generations of blogging. I'm still working on it ;)

  7. Oh how I wish I had a Crafty Cutter so I could join in the party... The projects are AMAZING!! Does it have a very steep learning curve? Or are the projects I see fairly easy to do...with a Crafty Cutter, of course! :-)

    Happy weekend!!!

  11. Once again Amanda you posted an awesome post! Don't ever change your style, you really make a great author. I just discovered Cratersmind, great site! The Drudge Report mentioned Tumblr something I just discovered and LOVE posting on more than my "regular" blog. I don't have any projects to link up, but dang there are some pretty genius ones going on here, I am going to be busy browsing all day!

  12. Your list is eating up nap time - too many good reads ;)

    I have to say that I think Target playdates sound like the best thing ever! No mess to clean up when you're done, and no melt downs because your precious angel refuses to share his toys (not my child). Good stuff - have a great weekend!

  15. Hope you end up with the perfect weekend! My honey and I went out tonight on an impromtu date: hippie rolls at our local pizzeria, basement-refinishing shopping at Lowe's, and "Grace Card" at the movies. Thanks for hosting this blogging party! -- Ruth

  20. At every one of your bloggy parties I am introduced to new blogs that I learn from -- thank you again for hosting this! SO many neat posts out there this weekend!

    Hope you are enjoying your weekend -- here in southern CA it is cold and rainy, so we are inside with a fire going (my favorite weather, as I love being cozy inside my home:)

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
