We jumped into summer so quickly that I completely forgot to share pictures from Natalie's preschool graduation with you all.
The star of the day even agreed to being photographed by her mommy before the big event:
Her daddy was not happy to see his girl holding hands with a BOY as the classes marched down the sanctuary aisle:
(sorry for the blur. preschoolers march fast!)
The audience was treated to a rollicking rendition of "Who is the King of the Universe" (complete with monkey sounds) and "This Little Light of Mine," along with other hits.
Then it was time for the presentation of the diplomas. It took awhile, but I was happy that they gave each child a moment on the stage alone to shine. Some shone longer than others.
We kept Michaela Byrd entertained with a steady supply of sugar. No complaints there.
The graduates and their families were treated to cake and punch afterwards.
A nice photo opp with two of Natalie's very bestest girls.
I didn't find myself in emotional turmoil during the graduation ceremony because Natalie will be attending the half day kindergarten program at the same school next year. She's excited to show Michaela Byrd the ropes of preschool!
I can't believe how much that sweet face has changed since her first year of preschool!
For now, we're enjoying our summer, getting some things on my to-do list completed, and trying to stay sane. Once I cull through about 487 ballet recital photos, I can post about that too.
{Has your summer started off on the right foot?}
Congratulations little cutie pie! I love the plaid dress, the colors are so pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my word! I'm trying not to tear up :) I can't believe how BIG she is! AND I can't believe Michaela will be in preschool next year! -Susu
ReplyDeleteHow sweet. I can't wait for this moment, but at the same time, I am so not ready for it! They grow up too fast!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Miss Natalie! It's hard to believe that she'll be a kindergartener next year.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with Natalie's smocked dress and the bow in her hair. She is adorable!
Half day kindergarten seems so much more reasonable to me than full day. My aunt taught in Newport News and that's what they did there. Around here the public schools all have a full day for kindergarten and it's too much for most of them.
Awww...that brings back memories! Congrats to Natalie!! We will be doing the graduation thing next year, except it is one from college and one from high school. Oh to go back to the preschool days...
ReplyDeleteHow sweet!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be snapping shots next week when my son graduates pre-k!!
I've got the tissues ready :)
Congrats to your graduate:) Those last two pictures are too cute... She looks so grown up in the second one! Good luck staying sane this summer:) My boys are already getting a little stir crazy and we've been busy so far this summer!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Natalie!! She looked so pretty!
ReplyDeleteshe's adorable! so cute! my 5 yr old had full day kindergarten this year but she was the first one-i liked when the older girls had 1/2 day kindergarten

They sure do grow up way to fast.
ReplyDeleteI remember those days...sniff! Natalie looks so pretty. Congratulations to the graduate!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, Amanda. . . what wonderful photos! I can't believe that "first day" photo--she's such a baby girl in that picture, and just look at her now! What's so funny, though, is that of course we think they look "big" when they first go off to preschool, don't we? (Of course, we think that for the first days of just about everything; it never ends!)
ReplyDeleteYour girls are blessed to have you and T as parents. What a wonderful childhood they're having! And they are absolutely, positively beautiful girls. May they always be as lovely on the outside AND the inside as their mama. :)
Great photos of a very special day. She looks terrific!!
ReplyDeleteAs for summer...well we went from winter to summer almost overnight!!!!
So I am still playing catch up here!
Ha!
Hugs
