A Thanksgiving Tea Party

Natalie and Michaela Byrd apparently fall into the category of history revisionists. The Thanksgiving Feast has been turned into a Thanksgiving Tea Party. The Pilgrims didn't wear somber, dark clothes...they wore festive tutus and jaunty flower topped headbands. And the Indians followed a strict costume de rigueur fashion policy---fringed mini gowns and sparkly pink slip-on shoes. If you don't believe me, check out this historically accurate reenactment:

PS. Thanks for your patience this week. I know you haven't seen any crafty or homey posts here, and that's because I've been trying to pick the house up and pack for a quick Thanksgiving trip we're taking being forced to make.  I have some really cool things planned to post once Thanksgiving draws to a close and I can get my act together!

How are your Thanksgiving plans panning out?

  5. Just so cute. They look like they were really having a fun time.

I sure miss having my daughters and granddaughters that small. Maybe I will have to borrow my great granddaughter for the day and we can have a tea party.

  6. Revisionists, huh? No danger; their extremely intelligent and historically literate parents can set them straight as needed. :)

  7. Oh Amanda, your girls are adorable, and your posts always make me laugh. I love how much of your personality comes through in your writing!

And- I think I did read somewhere in an Extremely Reliable Source that tea and crumpets were served atop beds of pink flowers on the Mayflower. ;)

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
