4th of July Tinsel Wreath (Last Minute Decorations)

It's not too late to show your patriotic spirit! I like to leave my 4th of July Decorations up well into the month of July. I just feel more festive that way. I put a few fun decorations outside over the weekend, but my favorite is my old Independence Day Tinsel Wreath.

This is, hands down, the easiest wreath to make. I don't have step-by-step photos, but if you have a wreath form, you just tack one end of your tinsel garland down with a flat thumbtack or pin and wind it around and around the form until the whole thing is covered! If you have a metal front door like I do, then you can follow my tutorial for how to hang a wreath on a metal door. Easy peasy:

As for the rest of the yard...I didn't have a lot to spend. We still have mulching to do, and one of the azaleas in my front flower bed died (boo!), so there's a blank spot where it should be. But I like the little pops of color that I added with some flags and some pretty flowers. I had to remove the vinyl "welcome" on the door because it was peeling badly, and someday (!) I will have black shutters rather than green. A girl can dream, right?

Pretty flowers and flags!

And that's pretty much it so far. Like I said, we need to mulch, and I have some solar lights I want to put up, but this is it for now. It's not too late to put some cute stuff out for the holiday!

Do you decorate for the 4th of July?

  3. Your wreath is so fun! I like to leave my stuff up the whole month too...except my cute windsocks are still in the attic because I've been too busy to put them up! I guess I should do that today since tomorrow is the 4th!

  6. I've always wondered what the proper etiquette was for how long to leave up your 4th of July decorations. Glad I'm not the only one who leaves theirs up past the day! Lol...love your decor...i did similar things.

  7. I don't usually! But this year I went ahead and made a wreath and stuck two little flags in my plant barrels out front, then called it good. :) I also made a super easy centerpiece to put on the table! Decorating even a little is always fun!

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
