So, I'm a "mean mom." According to Natalie, I am one of the only moms (!!) who didn't send a bag of chips in my first grader's lunchbox last year. Don't get me wrong, we definitely indulge from time to time. Who doesn't love something crunchy to go along with their homemade sandwich? But I try to keep the kiddos' snacks and meals as healthy as I can. Not to mention, a full bag of fatty, salty chips can be like a siren calling to this pregnant chick who needs to do a better job of eating well for two.
When I was invited to do a little taste test with two new flavors of Veggie Chips from Green Giant™, I jumped at the chance to try a healthier snacking option. I received a bag of Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chip in Garden Ranch and a bag of Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips in Barbecue.
All I can say is....YUM!
The Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips (Garden Ranch) were the perfect tasty snack with my favorite salsa. (Also really good with some roasted red pepper hummus--I add a dash of hot sauce for a pop!)
The Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips (Barbecue) were a fabulous addition to my lunch this week. I usually make a turkey sandwich on a ciabatta roll or a turkey panini with some homemade bread. Adding the veggie chips was a nice treat...it gave me the crunch I craved:
The kids liked the Garden Ranch flavor. I'll definitely be purchasing a bag for back-to-school for my new second grader. It's easy to stay in charge of portions when I can toss them into a little baggie and add them to her lunchbox myself!
Whether you are looking for something to spice up lunch for yourself or the kids, or if you crave a more satisfying snack option, I can recommend the new flavors from Green Giant™. They made my taste buds happy!

My youngest and I actually prefer veggie chips. Regular chips are so greasy!
ReplyDeleteOoh, those look good! I'll have to check the stores to see if they carrying them here in Canada.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're not alone, I didn't send chips in my daughters' lunched either. The only time they got them was after Halloween when they get the little bags trick-or-treating. Even then I spread them out over a months worth of lunches.
Hope you and baby are doing well! I have been MIA forever. lol
